Sheila Hooda has over 30 years of experience working for, advising and transforming global financial services, consumer, education and business, professional and information services firms. She is currently the President of Alpha Advisory Partners, an advisory firm focused on the financial and business services sectors.
Ms. Hooda recently served on the executive team at Thomson Reuters, and previously at TIAA-CREF, where she was a member of the Office of the CEO and the leader of Corporate Strategy and M&A from 2006 to 2012. Ms. Hooda was instrumental in the development of the firm’s long term strategic repositioning of its business model and its acquisition and partnership strategy in the asset management and pension and retirement sectors.
Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Ms. Hooda was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where she provided leadership for global client relationship management within the investment banking and equities division. Earlier on Ms. Hooda was a consultant with McKinsey & Co and started her career with American Express Bank in India.
She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Harvard Kennedy School of Public Leadership. Ms. Hooda serves on the Global Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Pratham USA. She previously served on the board of Women’s World Banking as well as the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum’s Council on long-term public and institutional investing and the Business Council of the Asia Society. Ms. Hooda is a Governance Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a member of Women Corporate Directors.
Ms. Hooda received a M.B.A from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
